The district is aware of the national Tik-Tok posts circulating about the potential for violence at schools across the country on Friday, December 17, 2021. Although these posts originated outside the school district, we have been in contact with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and West Milton Police Department. There will be an increased presence of law enforcement officers in our buildings tomorrow, and this will be in addition to our School Resource Officer, Deputy Brian Lyons, and the G2G School Safety Officer.
We fully investigate allegations of violence and potential threats and always involve the West Milton Police Department and Miami County Sheriff’s Office. With support from our law enforcement partners, we will seek the fullest extent of available consequences to those individuals responsible for making threats of physical harm to our students, staff members, and facilities. As always, we encourage our students, staff members, parents, caregivers, and community members to report any concerns so that we are not only aware but can also be proactive in our next steps.
Thank you for your continued support of the Milton-Union Schools.
